Diesel Locomotive V9

Diesel engine V9 was built entirely at the TGR Invermay Workshops in Launceston, being completed in 1959. This said, some sections such as engine, gearboxes, pumps etc would have been bought as ready-made assemblies and installed into the overall locomotive during the course of erecting, however the mainframes, cab, body work and scores of other bits would have been made by TGR.

There was an article in the 1963 ARHS Bulletin magazine with a report on the running of the last train from West Strahan to Zeehan by a very new V9 in 1960.
