Inspired by the works of O Winston Link, get to know our unique industrial heritage through the lens.

Guided by expert Tasmanian photographer, Cameron Blake, join this workshop and go behind the day-to-day with exclusive access inside our maintenance facility, Carswell Park. With not one, but two of our famous Abt Locomotives in steam, explore their unique lines, angles and lighting both inside and outside the maintenance facility.

This workshop is designed for train enthusiasts and photographers alike. Whether you come with the latest and greatest in camera tech or are armed simply with a smartphone, take home images of our history that you’ll be proud to hang over the mantlepiece.

Cameron will provide a 20-minute group workshop onboard one of our meticulously restored carriages at Queenstown station before we head down to Carswell Park on foot. There, Cameron will work with each participant, spending time one-on-one to ensure you capture history that moves you, the West Coast Wilderness way.

WHAT TO EXPECT:

A safety briefing with one of the WCWR rail team onboard a wilderness carriage at Queenstown Station
A photography briefing from Cameron to prepare you and make the most of your experience
A brief walk from Queenstown Station to the Carswell Park maintenance facility
At least 1.5 hours inside Carswell Park shed and yard with exclusive access to the rolling stock.
